Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin is a true literary masterpiece. When I started this book, I admit I had a hard time committing. It felt slow-moving while simultaneously jumping from experience to experience. However, the more I read, the more enamored I became with the writing style.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow follows Sadie Green and Sam Masur’s journey through life. They experience so much throughout the book, from grief and heartbreak to identity crises. Sadie and Sam are not always likable, and I think that’s what makes them so easy to relate to. They are living through deeply emotional experiences and feeling everything just as intensely. They don’t always react perfectly—who does? What’s beautiful is their ability to keep fighting through it all and the connection that remains palpable throughout the book.

Even the background characters are easy to become attached to. Not to mention, the way Zevin incorporates LGBTQIA+ and POC representation so beautifully is inspiring. This book probes the minds of readers, pushing us to think about our own lives.

This one is a must-read for book clubs and for readers who want to think long and hard after they’ve finished the book. I can say for a fact that I will not forget it.
